ROLE & CONTEXT 

  • To help Tag deliver the best Retail packaging to market and to our clients customers
  • To ensure that Tag pac remains at the forefront of on press file performance of Tag products in market.
  • Within each discipline, the process of pursuing Quality, Efficiency, Economics and Optimization should be adhered to.
  • To support the business to both work with, collaborate and develop technical excellence within Tag and Tags clients
  • To be pro-active and therefore anticipate and rectify issues at project outset before they become a problem and to drive the best result from any print process.
  • To be an educator and to be respected and trusted from creative design facility to print production facility.
  • Assist, when required, the Project Managers/Coordinators with the quality of their inputs and help them to provide a more comprehensive brief from a technical, colour separation and print perspective.

NEED TO ACHIEVE

Client & Customers : 

  • Deliver the highest quality demanded by the Tag standard in every piece of work produced
  • Always be the technical face of Tag, as and when required, for our clients and assist our clients with bringing quality inputs to Tag in order to assist with efficient high quality production of their files.
  • Develop strong relationships with each of the major print groups working with Tag.
  • Ensure that there is a Tag Representative at all print runs where reasonably requested by the clients. Train others on Print Run attendance needs.
  • Develop & maintain a strong relationship with the client, creative agencies, print suppliers and team-mates.
  • Develop and maintain a great understanding and appreciation of the clients brands and clients customers
  • Develop and evolve methodologies to remove client frustrations and enhance the user experience
  • Surpass client expectations and focus on achieving a great result at every stage of the production process from creative to finished product.
  • Offer daily support to the team and supply-chain
  • Work closely with print suppliers to understand their ways of working and continue to build strong relationships.

 

Commercial & Administration

  • Build and maintain brand understanding
  • Ensure that Tag become the first choice for on press expertise and are seen by the print supply base and clients as excellent mediators, technicians and professionals on press.
  • Always strive for the most optimized solutions available within all aspects of the Business
  • Maintain and build comprehensive print specifications and profiles
  • Keep abreast of technology both in graphics production, print, inks, colour, structure, packing and materials.
  • Ensure Mac operators have all they need everyday to execute technically excellent packaging pre-press
  • Drive and carry out any trials, tests or research in order to benefit projects, maintain quality and reduce cost
  • Maintain training of operators and other production members in print process , colour, materials and packaging structure.

Communication

  • Drive technical meetings with other suppliers outside of specific projects Assist clients and Tag project managers to drive technical communication through projects and to make sure that information is captured and shared in a timely manor to the relative agencies and suppliers involved in the project.
  • Report feedback in a pro-active manner to Directors
  • Produce comprehensive technical project reports and share them to the relevant team-mates

NEED TO KNOW

Skills & Knowledge

  • Have total understanding of colour communication.
  • Know and understand the clients organization and market
  • Ability to juggle numerous tasks at once and deliver all effectively
  • Be an ambassador of both Tag and the client at all times.
  • Understanding of Tags internal working processes
  • Full knowledge of all print processes, production methodologies and packaging formats. There is an expectation that the knowledge of a Tag technical manager and desire to share it will surpass expectation in all respects.
  • Works as a strong team player and diplomat
  • Experience of communication at many levels with different types of people is essential
  • Has experience of trouble shooting and finding solutions in pressured environments.
  • Report writing experience is essential
  • Be able to look and act professional at all times (business and social with clients)
  • Willingness to become the champion of the clients business and an educator of graphics implementation and packaging production.
  • Display confidentiality at all times with regards to Tag and client business

Qualifications

Relevant qualification – specific recognized courses. BPIF, C&G 2450 or degree.

Experience 

3+ years experience in packaging print production environment. 3+ in packaging graphics implementation. Client facing experience essential.
